What is the difference between smoking and each of the following: performing ablution while wearing nail polish and praying with it, listening to music, and covering the face?

It is obligatory for anyone who is committing a sin to repent from it.

Sins vary, but their variation does not justify persistence in minor ones. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Beware of the underestimated sins, for they accumulate upon a person until they destroy him."

Ablution (wudu') with a barrier that prevents water from reaching the limb is invalid, and whoever prays with it, their prayer is invalid. If one does so knowingly and intentionally, they are disobedient and have committed a major sin.

Listening to music is a sin from which one must repent.

Smoking is forbidden, and its harm extends to one's wealth and to those around the smoker.

As for a woman covering her face, scholars differ on this matter.

It is obligatory for the questioner to repent from smoking, and for his wife to repent from listening to music and from praying with an incomplete ablution.
