'Umrah is obligatory according to the most preponderant scholarly opinions, and it is superior to charity in most cases. If a woman does not have a mahram, it is permissible for her to travel to perform 'Umrah with a safe company and if she is safe from fitnah, adopting the view of those who permitted it. She should also make abundant supplications for her parents and her husband.
