How can seeking forgiveness be done correctly to attract provision and facilitate university admission?

Seeking forgiveness (Istighfar) is a means of attaining good and repelling evil. Its doer is rewarded simply by performing it, and whoever increases in it has hope of achieving their worldly and otherworldly aspirations. A Muslim should be content with Allah’s decree and destiny after taking all necessary means, for what Allah has ordained for them is goodness, wisdom, mercy, and benefit.
