What is the most appropriate way to address God when supplicating for oneself, or for others, or for both, and is it better to name those being supplicated for, or to suffice with referring to them using the plural pronoun?

There is no objection to supplicating with the aforementioned formulas that include the beautiful names and attributes of Allah, whether the supplicant is praying for himself or for others, individually or in a group, present or absent. It is permissible to name those for whom the supplication is made outside of prayer, and according to some, within the prayer, or to allude to them with a pronoun while intending to specify them.
