How can one reconcile the noble Hadith which mentions the blowing of the soul after four months and the birth of the fetus, with the saying of some that the fetus moves in the first month, citing embryology as evidence?

The fetus has two types of movements: voluntary, after the ensoulment, and involuntary, before and after the ensoulment. Modern medicine determines that ensoulment and voluntary movements occur after 120 days of the fetus's age, and this is what Muslim scholars have agreed upon. As for movement before this period, it is involuntary, resulting from growth and nutrition, and not from life, as stated by Muslim scholars such as Ibn al-Qayyim.
