Is a substitute required to abstain from masturbation, and can a person live their entire life without marriage or masturbation?

The prohibition of masturbation is general, encompassing both married and unmarried individuals. There is no prerequisite for an alternative to abandon it, for Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. Many celibate scholars throughout history lived without marriage, engrossed in knowledge and da'wah (invitation to Islam), which demonstrates its feasibility. Addiction to this habit stems from weak repentance and harboring ill thoughts about Allah. Repentance is open to whoever fears Allah and strives against their lower self.
