Is masturbation forbidden? If so, how can it be avoided, and what must one who has become accustomed to it due to the cessation of marital relations do?

We have previously explained in past fatwas the prohibition of masturbation and how to avoid it. Therefore, you must fear Allah and abandon this habit, and repent to Allah for what has passed, for the one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin. Masturbation, in addition to its religious prohibition, entails psychological and physical harms.

As for your treatment of your husband, you must be a good wife to him and make him understand, and explain to him that among a wife's rights upon her husband is for him to consort with her honorably and to keep her chaste from what is forbidden; because this is one of the fundamental purposes of marriage.
