Are specialized scholars of the Qur’an obligated to reflect upon it, or is it for the general public? And what should a person do who can read well but is not skilled in interpretation or the rules of the Arabic language? And is he obligated to reflect upon it despite being prone to error?

Allah commanded the contemplation of the Qur’an in many verses. The Qur’an was revealed for pondering its meanings, reflecting on its content, drawing lessons, benefiting from admonitions, complying with commands, and refraining from prohibitions. This command is directed to everyone, according to their talents and cognitive abilities. Whoever masters reading should learn from the language of the Qur’an what enables them to benefit from its meanings. If one is unable, then Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. It is necessary to verify the correctness of an interpretation before attempting it, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever speaks concerning the Qur’an based on his own opinion, or what he does not know, let him prepare his seat in Hellfire."
