Does the prayer of one's parents continue to affect and bless a person long after their death, and is it permissible to attribute good things and the removal of hardships to the prayer of one's parents?

Filial piety is among the most noble acts of obedience and one of the greatest branches of piety, through which Allah facilitates matters for His servant. A parent's supplication for their child is likely to be answered, as narrated by Abu Hurairah from the Prophet (peace be upon him): "There are three supplications that are answered, without a doubt: the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of a parent for their child." The rectification of affairs that occurs due to filial piety and the parents' supplications is not surprising, for Allah's grace is vast and His generosity is immense.
