Is it permissible, when seeking the removal of an evil, to mention the details of that evil, even if it leads to backbiting?

Gheebah (backbiting) is permissible when seeking assistance to remove an evil by mentioning a person to someone capable of preventing them from it. One should limit the mention to only what achieves the intended purpose, without elaborating on their flaws, because the default is that gheebah is forbidden, and concealing a Muslim's faults is legally required. The exception is made for removing evil, so if this is achieved with the least amount of speech, then that suffices. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said: "The advisor's intention is that Allah rectifies that person, and that He protects Muslims from their harm in their religion and worldly affairs, and they should pursue this goal through the easiest possible means available to them."
