Will the world perish, and a group remain steadfast in the Levant?

If the intent is to gather people in the Levant at the end of time, then Ahmad and Abu Dawud narrated from Ibn Umar a hadith that Al-Albani deemed weak, which states: "There will be migration after migration. People will move to the place of Ibrahim's migration. None will remain on earth but its most evil inhabitants. Their lands will cast them out, Allah's self will abhor them, the fire will gather them with apes and swine, staying with them when they sleep, resting with them when they rest, and consuming those who fall behind." Ibn Kathir is of the view that this gathering is the gathering of those present at the end of the world to the land of the Levant.
