What is the difference between the intention (niyyah) and the resolve (hamm) to perform Umrah for someone who died while traveling to perform it but was unable to complete it?

The resolve to perform acts of obedience is rewarded. If a servant intends to do good but is unable to do so, a full good deed is written for them, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah has decreed good deeds and evil deeds and then explained them. So, whoever intended a good deed and did not do it, Allah records it with Him as a full good deed." As for an obligatory duty, the intention to perform it does not absolve one from it. Therefore, if the deceased left behind enough money for the expenses of Umrah (definition) and Hajj but did not perform them, her guardians must perform Hajj on her behalf or hire someone to do so, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Fulfill Allah's right, for Allah is most worthy of fulfillment." And if she passed away after entering the state of ihram (definition), it is hoped that she will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment while reciting the Talbiyah (definition).
