Is it permissible to name someone "Susan"? And what are the reasons for that?

It appears that the name "Susan" is among the reprehensible names that ought to be replaced, due to its lack of meaning in the Arabic language and its unfamiliarity to Arabs. If it is a non-Arabic name and free from prohibitions, then it is permissible, but it is preferable to choose a beautiful name with a clear meaning. Sheikh Bakr Abu Zayd mentioned it among the names popular among non-Muslims, and it is not permissible to name oneself with names exclusive to non-Muslims and by which they are known.
