The answer

We congratulate you on your return to God, on your uprightness, and on your perseverance in prayer, for it is one of the most important pillars of Islam. Whoever abandons prayer, denying its obligation, is an infidel by the consensus of scholars. As for whoever abandons it out of laziness, there is a difference of opinion. The majority of scholars hold that whoever abandons prayer out of laziness must make up all the prayers he missed immediately, to the best of his ability.

You should hasten to separate from the aforementioned wife so that you may remain steadfast in your religion, for your continued presence with her will cause the greatest harm to your afterlife and worldly future. After separating from her, strive to gain custody of your son to raise him with a righteous upbringing, away from this woman.
