Regarding the ruling on conditions stipulated by the wife in the marriage contract: some are valid by consensus, some are disputed, and some are invalid. Valid conditions are binding, and the wife has the right to annul the marriage if the husband violates them. As for fulfilling the condition, the well-known opinion among the Hanbalis is that it is recommended but not obligatory, while Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah considers it obligatory. An invalid condition is as if it never existed. As for a wife spying on her husband, it is forbidden except in specific circumstances, such as preventing an evil when suspicion arises.
