Should one be advised to take the concession or the more rigorous path in the event of being compelled to shave the beard due to military conscription, and in order to avoid problems with the father and security and career obstacles? And if the rigorous path is chosen, is it permissible to leave home to avoid these problems?

It is recommended to take advantage of religious concessions (rukhas) as long as they are applicable, because Allah loves for His concessions to be availed of, just as He dislikes for His disobedience to be committed, and just as He loves for His firm commands (aza'im) to be fulfilled. Al-Hafiz Ibn Abd al-Barr mentioned that taking advantage of concessions is more befitting for people of knowledge and understanding, and that knowledge is hearing the concession from a trustworthy source. It is also mentioned that showing gratitude for this blessing makes the concession take the ruling of a firm command, and this is confirmed in the case of the questioner's father.
