What is the correct Sharia position regarding the conflicting opinions on the ruling concerning epilation (namṣ), and what is the ruling on taking a small amount of eyebrow hair, given the inclination towards the opinion of the majority of scholars, and what is the ruling on placing plastic hair fasteners ("qaraṣ")—do they fall under the حديث (Hadith) "like the leaning humps of a camel"?

When there is a difference of opinion among scholars, the layman must choose among the various opinions, or adopt the view of the most knowledgeable and pious scholar, or the stricter, or the lighter, or the one with stronger evidence, or consult another mufti.

Ibn Uthaymeen holds that the layman should follow the one whom he believes is closer to the truth. If he does not know which is more preponderant, then he may choose, or adopt the more cautious opinion, or the easier one; because the religion is ease.

The more preponderant opinion is to adopt the easier view, unless it entails harm. If it entails harm, then he should adopt the easier view only for himself.
