Is it forbidden to use and own gasoline-powered means of transport and mobile phones, based on the hadith "There is no harm and no striking of harm," due to the potential environmental and health damages they cause?

If it is proven that mobile phones cause cancer, then it is not permissible to use them except in a manner that ensures one is safe from harm. Using them in a way that leads to harm, especially with a strong probability of such harm, is forbidden. If it leads to death, it is considered casting oneself into destruction. As for cars and means of transport, their benefits are essential, and the harm from their pollution does not prohibit their use, because the rules of Sharia (definition) permit harm if it is counterbalanced by an overriding benefit.
