Many scholars have spoken about Rabia al-Adawiyya, and her biography has been mentioned in biographical dictionaries. Al-Dhahabi said about her in "Siyar A'lam al-Nubala'": "Rabia al-Adawiyya, the ascetic, devout, humble worshiper, Umm Amr Rabia bint Ismail. She lived eighty years and died in the 180th year of the Hijra. No name other than Rabia was mentioned for her."
