Is the divergence between the desire to improve one's financial situation through working in banks and compliance with God's commands—by rejecting these offers—considered hypocrisy, and is informing friends about this inner struggle also considered hypocrisy?

A Muslim should thank Allah for the blessing of disliking worldly desires, love of the world, and money, as this is a sign of loving faith and its beautification in the heart. The opposition of the commanding-evil self to the love of good that has settled in the heart is neither hypocrisy nor disobedience, as long as one does not go along with it or resolve to act upon it. Informing friends about this is not showing off, unless the intention behind it is to display good deeds for praise or ostentation.
