What is the ruling on wiping over socks during work hours for two days and three prayer times, while in a state of ritual purity?

It is permissible to wipe over socks during ablution if they cover the obligatory part and are thick enough to allow for continuous walking, contrary to what some scholars have stipulated regarding their thickness. The duration for wiping is one day and one night for a resident, and three days and nights for a traveler. The duration begins from the first wipe after an event that necessitates ablution. What you do by wearing socks after purification and then wiping over them for the Dhuhr and Asr ablutions is correct. However, wearing them after purification and then keeping them on for several days and wiping over them is not sufficient.
