Is it possible for one to ask for something in Paradise that was forbidden to him in this world, such as a man asking to intimately associate with a man he loved in this world?

The people of Paradise do not desire what is impure, nor do they wish for what was forbidden in the world due to its impurity. Thus, they do not desire homosexual relations between men or bestiality. Allah Almighty has placed all that is pure in Paradise, and all that is impure in Hellfire. In the worldly life, the pure and the impure are mixed, but on the Day of Resurrection, Allah will distinguish the impure from the pure. So, the pure ones and their good deeds will be in Paradise, and the impure ones and their evil deeds will be in Hellfire.
