Does the work of one who delays the Asr prayer until its time has expired and then makes it up later become nullified, or is nullification only for one who neither prays it nor makes it up?

The threat mentioned in the Hadith (definition) applies to intentionally abandoning the Asr prayer without a valid legal excuse until its time expires, whether one makes it up or not. Imam Ahmad narrated: "Whoever intentionally abandons the Asr prayer until its time passes him by, his deeds have been nullified." Ibn Taymiyyah said: "Whoever intentionally abandons the Asr prayer, his deeds are nullified, even if he makes it up." Therefore, a Muslim must beware of this threat and maintain performing prayers on time.
