Obtaining a certificate through favoritism (wāsiṭah) without deserving it is a forbidden act that involves several prohibitions, including: bad intercession, cheating, claiming what one was not given, uttering falsehoods and bearing false witness, lying to employers and people, and usurping the rights of others. Therefore, whoever has done this must offer sincere repentance, feel remorse, and resolve not to return to such an act. As for the work and earnings obtained from this certificate, it is hoped that repentance will be sufficient to resolve the matter, as long as the work is performed skillfully and excellently.
