Does Allah accept the Islam of a man who declared his conversion to Islam in order to marry a Muslim woman, even if it was not out of genuine faith, given that this increases the number of Muslims and his children will be Muslims?

The essence of faith is in the heart, and intention holds significant weight in Islamic law, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, actions are by intentions."

The issue is divided into two parts: 1. Acceptance of Islam by Allah: The Hadith indicates that the Islam of one whose intention was not faith and whose heart did not embrace it is not accepted. 2. Outward Rulings of Islam: Whoever pronounces the two testimonies (Shahadatayn) and performs the rituals of Islam, and does not commit anything that nullifies it, is treated as a Muslim. His marriage to a Muslim woman is valid because we are commanded to deal with what is apparent and not to probe into what is in the hearts. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "I have not been commanded to probe into people's hearts or to split open their bellies."

Perhaps one who enters Islam with such an intention will discover its virtues and perfect his Islam. He can be advised that his aim should be to seek the pleasure of Allah, and marriage would then be secondary. The girl can make marriage to her a motivation for him to embrace Islam, as Umm Sulaym did with Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with both of them).

Justifying acceptance by increasing the number of Muslims is incorrect, for Islam cares about quality as much as quantity. A sincere person in his religion is better than a thousand liars.
