Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
Abu Turab is one of the two kunyas (teknonyms) of Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, the second being Abu al-. The kunya "Abu Turab" was more beloved to him because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was the one who gave him this kunya when he found him sleeping in the mosque with dust clinging to his body. So, he began wiping the dust off him and saying, "Arise, Abu Turab."
