What is the ruling on stories circulating in forums that narrate seeing angels or their protection of a person, or stories about the grave, such as it burning with fire, or a funeral that refuses to enter the mosque for prayer, knowing that we do not know the extent of their veracity?

Allah is the Disposer of affairs, and He possesses ultimate wisdom in His cosmic signs that He sends as warnings and glad tidings, as He says: (We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth). And Allah made the story of the People of the Cave a sign and an honor. It is incumbent upon the Muslim to examine circulating stories in light of Islamic law and reason. It is not permissible to transgress reason and proof, and attention must be paid to the source and content of a story, as it may contradict Islamic law or reason. One must also beware of spreading rumors, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: (It is enough of a lie for a man to narrate everything he hears).

Regarding the tales mentioned in the question: 1. The torment of the grave is part of the unseen, which humans cannot perceive except for the prophets. Therefore, do not believe tales that mention hearing the voices of the dead. 2. It is not possible for humans to see angels in their true form in this world, because they are created from light, and the human eye is not capable of seeing them.

It is incumbent upon Muslims to gain more awareness and understanding, and to advance in knowledge and scholarship.
