Are the stories told about angels, including the story of Gabriel initially refraining from seizing the soul of a woman nursing her child, authentic and real?

A Muslim must verify everything narrated to him and avoid speaking of everything he hears, for speaking too much of everything one hears is a lie, as it contains both truth and falsehood. Angels are from the unseen world, and it is impermissible to speak about them except with what has been established in the texts of Islamic law. The one entrusted with seizing souls is the Angel of Death, not Jibreel (peace be upon him). The mentioned story about the Angel of Death has no basis and is false for two reasons:

1. Allah is more merciful to His servants than the Angel of Death, so how can the Angel of Death cite mercy while Allah is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful?

2. Angels do not disobey Allah and immediately obey His command. Allah says: "They do not disobey Allah in what He commands them and do what they are commanded."
