What is the correct interpretation of the saying of Jesus, peace be upon him: "You know what is in my soul, and I do not know what is in Your soul," and is this address appropriate for Allah, the Almighty, the Majestic?

The mentioned passage is part of verse (116) of Surat Al-Ma'idah, and it is a question from Allah Almighty to 'Isa (Jesus) - peace be upon him - on the Day of Resurrection, reprimanding those who claimed his divinity, as He said: ﴿And [mention] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as two gods besides Allah'?" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen."﴾ [Al-Ma'idah: 116]. 'Isa began his speech by exalting Allah, disclaiming any imperfection from Him, and his statement: ﴿You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself﴾ means: You know my secrets and what my conscience has concealed, and I do not know anything of what You have exclusively kept in Your unseen knowledge. And affirming a "self" for Allah the Almighty presents no difficulty, for Allah has affirmed it for Himself, and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) has also affirmed it.
