Does Allah Almighty hear the discourse of the soul secretly, or does He only know it, especially since the Quranic verses describe His knowledge of what is in the breasts, but do not describe His hearing of it?
Allah's knowledge is more expansive than the attributes of hearing and sight. It relates to everything: what is heard, what is seen, what is possible, what is impossible, what exists, and what does not exist. For this reason, Allah Almighty says: "Of all things, He is Knowing" and "He encompasses all things in knowledge." As for hearing, it relates to sounds, both secret and manifest. Hearing, when attributed to Allah, is of two types: hearing in the sense of perceiving sound, and hearing in the sense of responding. Allah Almighty knows what occurs in the universe, whether it is a sound or not, and if it is a sound, He hears it along with His knowledge of it.
