Is a wife Haram for her husband who swore an oath of divorce against her under duress and illness, and does divorce occur in such cases?

If a man divorces his wife twice: In the first instance, if he pronounces a definitive divorce and then takes her back before the 'iddah (waiting period) expires, it is counted as one divorce. As for the second instance, if he doubts the number of divorces, the lesser number is taken into account; if he doubts the type of divorce (irrevocable or revocable), it is considered revocable; and if he doubts the wording (whether it was a divorce or something else), nothing occurs. Regarding his oath of divorce that he will marry another woman if she does not respect him, the view of the majority of scholars is that the divorce takes effect upon the fulfillment of the condition. However, Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim hold that it is an oath, and he must offer an expiation for breaking an oath.
