What is the ruling on going to a church for the treatment of sorcery (sihr) and jinn possession (mass), and how does one respond to those who permit that?

It is preferable to avoid going to church for ruqyah (definition) (exorcism/healing through prayer), whether the raqi (exorcist/healer) is Muslim or disbeliever. If the raqi is Muslim and performs ruqyah according to Islamic law, the 기본 principle is that it is permissible to go, but it is better to avoid it. If the raqi is a disbeliever, some scholars have permitted his ruqyah with the remembrance of Allah or with the Book of Allah, while others disliked it because his ruqyah might involve something disliked. Prohibition is preferable in all cases because the church is a place where shirk (definition) (associating partners with Allah) occurs, and going there might be a promotion for it, which could lead to the ignorant being deceived by Muslims, especially with the scarcity of religious knowledge in this era. If the raqi is a disbeliever and performs ruqyah in a way that contradicts Islamic law, it is not permissible to go to him. The Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas has warned against going to a church or a priest for ruqyah, considering it to be divination and shirk, and that lawful treatment suffices over polytheistic, satanic ruqyah.
