Is the foul odor emanating from a person's navel considered najis (ritually impure), and what is its ruling?

Scent is not a material body or an entity that can be described as impure or pure; therefore, nothing is incumbent upon you concerning it. Nevertheless, cleanliness should be maintained, for Islam encourages it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is a duty upon every Muslim to bathe once every seven days, washing his head and body on that day." It is also recommended to use perfume frequently, following the example of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "From your world, women and perfume have been made beloved to me, and the coolness of my eyes has been placed in prayer." He also said: "Whoever is offered perfume should not refuse it, for it is pleasant in smell and light to carry."
