The sixth verse of Surah (definition) At-Tawbah (definition) addresses the ruling concerning polytheists who seek protection after the expiration of the sacred months. It states that they must be granted asylum until they hear the word of Allah, and then they should be escorted to a place of safety. This demonstrates the leniency of Islam and its eagerness to guide people. As for the sixty-first verse, it speaks about the hypocrites who harm the Prophet, peace be upon him, and describe him as an "ear." Allah Almighty responded to them by stating that the Messenger is an "ear of goodness" for them, for he believes in Allah and in the believers, and he is a mercy for those who have faith. Those who harm the Messenger will face a painful torment.
