The answer

In ablution, it is sufficient to deliver water to all the limbs that must be washed, based on the predominant assumption, and certainty is not required, in order to avoid hardship and difficulty. Similarly, the obligatory ghusl (ritual bath) is achieved by pouring water over the limbs, and rubbing is recommended but not obligatory. One must be wary of obsessive whispering (waswasah) regarding ablution, for Muslims know that ablution is a condition for the validity of prayer, and exaggerating it may lead to waswasah.
