Is a girl sinful for not waiting for the young man who asked her to, and for becoming attached to someone else? Must she wait for him? Is she unjust to him for breaking her promise? Will his prayer against her be answered? Will this bring Allah's wrath upon her? Will she be abandoned just as she abandoned him?

The girl does not sin by changing her mind and refusing to marry the first young man, as she is not legally obligated to marry him. She has the right to dissolve the engagement, even if it has been concluded. Fulfilling a promise is recommended, not obligatory, and her refusal of him is not considered an injustice. If he curses her, it is hoped that his curse will not be answered because it is a supplication without a just cause. There is no sin in her heart becoming attached to a young man, as long as it does not lead to falling into something unlawful. It must be taken into consideration that a man of religion and good character is more worthy of acceptance. And whoever is not destined to marry the one he loves should seek another and pray for a righteous wife.
