What is the ruling on a wife refusing intercourse on the wedding night?

A wife's obedience to her husband is among the most obligatory duties, especially concerning intimacy, unless she has a valid excuse, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a man calls his wife to his bed and she refuses to come, the angels curse her until morning." The husband should also consider the wife's apprehension about intercourse on the wedding night and strive to alleviate it with kind words, affection, foreplay, and by not rushing.
