What is the authenticity of the Hadith of Jibreel concerning the servant who worshipped Allah for five hundred years and wished to enter Paradise by virtue of his deeds, not by Allah's mercy?

The aforementioned Hadith has a weak chain of narration (is ضعيف الإسناد), and it has been deemed weak by several scholars, such as Al-Dhahabi and Al-Albani.

Regarding entry into Paradise, Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “No one's deeds will ever admit him into Paradise.” This does not contradict the verses that mention deeds as a cause for entering Paradise (such as Al-A'raf/43 and An-Nahl/32), for entering Paradise is due to deeds, but success in performing deeds and their acceptance is by Allah's grace and mercy, as affirmed by Al-Nawawi and Ibn Abil-Izz Al-Hanafi.
