Is it permissible to threaten or assault by beating, or to kidnap a partner in a bankrupt company, in order to force him to pay its debt?

It is not permissible to assault the debtor by beating or kidnapping. If the debtor is in straitened circumstances, he must be given respite until he becomes solvent, and it is recommended to forgive the entire debt or part of it. However, if the debtor is a procrastinator and has the ability to pay, it is permissible to speak about his procrastination and to refer his case to the ruler to compel him to fulfill his obligation and punish him, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Procrastination by a rich person is injustice," and "The delay of payment by a solvent person makes his honor and punishment permissible."
