Hisham bin Ammar was authenticated by Ibn Ma'in, Al-Ijli, and Ibn Hibban. An-Nasa'i said of him: "There is no harm in him." Muslim bin Qasim said: "He is truthful." Ad-Daraqutni said: "He is a great truthful narrator, but he grew old and changed at the end of his life, so his earlier narrations are more authentic." As for the Hadith, it is authentic, and its authenticity was affirmed by Ibn As-Salah, Ibn Hajar, Al-Isma'ili, Ibn Hibban, and Al-Albani.
