Is it right to confront the person who wronged me and revealed old information about me, and what is wrong with not confronting him?
Your friend should have been trustworthy in his advice, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one consulted is entrusted," and "Whoever cheats is not of us." What Allah has ordained for a person will inevitably come to them, and what He has not ordained for them will not reach them, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Ibn Abbas: "Know that if the whole nation were to gather to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you except with something Allah has already written for you. And if they were to gather to harm you with something, they would not harm you except with something Allah has already written against you. The pens have been lifted, and the scrolls have dried." So do not grieve over what you missed, and be at ease with what has been ordained for you.
