What is the ruling on taking a symbolic amount of money for a lifetime subscription to obtain discounts and information on addresses and products of registered companies?

A discount card for which a fee is paid is impermissible because it involves gharar (uncertainty). The subscriber pays money without knowing what they will receive in return. The Islamic Fiqh Academy has forbidden discount cards if they are for a fixed price or an annual subscription. Furthermore, setting the card's validity period as "lifetime" is not permissible in ijarah (leasing/hiring).
