If a person will reside for eight years at his workplace, and he is married, then he is not a traveler, because travel ceases with the intention of residing for four days, excluding the days of entry and exit, or upon the traveler's arrival at his homeland or at a place where his wife is present. Therefore, it is not permissible for him to combine or shorten prayers.
