Is it a condition to have presence of heart when saying "Allahumma barik (O Allah, bless)" when something impresses us, or is merely uttering it, out of fear of the evil eye, sufficient, without internalizing its meaning or intending protection?

"Tabreek" (invoking blessings) is a supplication for blessings and a remembrance of Allah. Remembrance (dhikr) and supplication (du'a) encompass each other. Allah commanded the presence of the heart during remembrance and supplication because that is the most important objective for the heart to benefit and strengthen its connection with Allah, which increases faith. Although the presence of the heart is required and represents the most perfect state, it is not a condition for receiving reward. Rather, the remembrance of Allah and supplicating to Him are good and blessed in every state.
