If the barber applies something fragrant to the head of the muhrim (a pilgrim in a state of ) of his own accord, then the muhrim has committed one of the prohibitions of ihram. Therefore, he must offer the of choice (fasting three days, or feeding six poor persons, or sacrificing a sheep). Among the fragrances that must be avoided is rose.
