What is the ruling on the work of an obstetrician-gynecologist, and is his money lawful or unlawful? And what should a son do if his father's money is unlawful while he is still studying? Is it permissible for him to take from his father's money after graduation for marriage and living expenses?

Working in medicine is permissible, and the remuneration a doctor receives for it is lawful. The medical profession is among the communal obligations (fard kifaya). There is no objection to male doctors specializing in women's diseases, especially in complex surgeries. The doctor must adhere to Islamic regulations, such as not uncovering more than what necessity dictates, not being in seclusion with the female patient, and not directly treating her if female doctors can provide the treatment. If the doctor adheres to these regulations, then what he earns is lawful, and there is no harm in accepting his financial assistance. However, if he does not adhere to the Islamic regulations, then what results from his work is unlawful.
