There is no difference between the Victorious Sect (al-Firqat al-Najiyah) and the Aided Group (al-Ta'ifah al-Mansurah). The Aided Group is not limited to mujahideen (strugglers for the sake of Allah) only; rather, it includes scholars, worshippers, those who enjoin good, and those who forbid evil. Al-Nawawi said that this group may be dispersed among different types of believers, including fighters, jurists, hadith scholars, and ascetics, and they are not necessarily gathered in one place. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah holds that those who adhere to pure Islam are the Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah (People of the Sunnah and the Community), and they are the Aided Group that will remain manifest upon the truth until the Hour (Day of Judgment) comes.
