What is the ruling on one who works in making the oud (lute) instrument?
It is not permissible for a Muslim to craft a lute (oud) or any other musical instrument. Whoever does so is sinful and must repent to Allah and break this instrument that he made, or transform it into an instrument that is permissible to use.
