What the Sheikh mentioned about Ihsan (excellence) is the constant awareness of God and the perfection of His awe, that you worship God as if you see Him, for if you do not see Him, He surely sees you. So, if your imagination during worship is that you are standing before God, then this is what is required. As for imagining a form for the essence of God Almighty, it is impermissible, because "there is nothing like unto Him," and the human mind cannot comprehend the essence of God. Therefore, a Muslim should abandon contemplating the essence of God and instead contemplate His cosmic signs and blessings. What you did is not disbelief and does not affect your fasting, but you must turn away from the whispers of Satan by saying: "I believe in God and His messengers."
