Is a woman who is 55 years old, after her divorce, sinful if she chooses to live alone in a remote rural area, refusing her sons' insistence that she live with them in the city, knowing her good conduct, righteousness, and fear of God, and that her sons' circumstances prevent them from living with her in the place she desires?

There is no harm in a woman living alone if she feels safe regarding herself and her honor. Her children do not have the right to force her to live with them. Rather, they should try to persuade her gently and respectfully, as stated in the Almighty's قول (saying): "And your Lord has decreed that you shall not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [a word of] disgust, nor repel them, but speak to them a noble word."
